Play date terms.
The ground rules for Dog Ppl play dates, so every dog (and every owner) has a brilliant time.
Who's running it
Play dates are run by Dog Ppl (Laura Bosworth, a sole trader trading as Dog Ppl) together with Cheshire Home Dog Boarding. When these terms say "we" or "us", they mean both. You can reach us at hello@dogppl.uk.
By booking a ticket, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself, anyone who comes with you, and your dog.
Your booking
- Each ticket covers one dog for the session, plus one free coffee.
- Every dog needs its own ticket, and numbers are limited so the field never feels crowded.
- Tickets are non-refundable. If you can't make it, email us before the session and you can pass your ticket to another dog, as long as they meet the rules below.
- If we have to cancel (for example because of severe weather, a problem at the venue or for safety reasons), we'll offer you a place at another play date or a full refund.
- We may need to change the time or location slightly. If we do, we'll tell you as early as we can. If the new arrangement doesn't work for you, we'll refund you.
Which dogs can come
To keep everyone safe, every dog must:
- be good with other dogs and with people. Dogs that have shown aggression towards dogs or people can't attend
- be fully vaccinated, with boosters up to date, and treated for fleas and worms
- be microchipped, as the law requires
- have been well for the last 72 hours, with no sickness, diarrhoea, kennel cough or anything catching
- not be in season. Unneutered males are welcome, as long as they aren't showing hormonal behaviour
- be old enough to have finished their puppy vaccinations
Dogs covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, including XL Bully types, can't attend these off-lead sessions.
On the day
- Stay with your dog and keep an eye on them for the whole session.
- Your dog should come back when called. Bring a lead, and pop it back on if things get too lively.
- Pick up after your dog and bring your own poo bags.
- Please don't bring food, treats or prized toys into the field. They can cause squabbles.
- Children are welcome but must be supervised by an adult at all times. Under 16s must be with a parent or guardian.
- Follow any instructions from the team. We may ask a dog to take a break or to leave if we think it's needed for everyone's safety. There's no refund if that happens.
Your responsibility for your dog
You're fully responsible for your dog for the entire event, from the moment you arrive (including the car park) until you leave. That means:
- You're responsible for your dog's behaviour, and for any injury, loss or damage your dog causes to any person, dog or property.
- You'll cover any costs that result, including vet bills for another dog your dog injures.
- You attend, and bring your dog, at your own risk. Dogs playing off lead can bump, nip, scuffle or pick up minor injuries, and a field is a natural space with uneven ground and other hazards.
We strongly recommend pet insurance that includes third-party liability cover.
Our liability
- Neither Dog Ppl nor Cheshire Home Dog Boarding is responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damage to you, your dog, anyone with you or your belongings, including anything caused by another dog, another attendee or the condition of the field, except where it's caused by our own negligence.
- We're not responsible for lost or stolen belongings, or for anything left in vehicles.
- Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the price of your ticket, unless the law says otherwise.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.
Photos and video
We'll take photos and video at play dates, which may be shared by Dog Ppl and Cheshire Home Dog Boarding on social media and our websites. If you'd rather you or your dog weren't included, just tell us when you arrive.
Your details
We use the details you give when booking to manage your booking and to contact you about the session. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
The legal bit
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If something isn't right, please email hello@dogppl.uk first.
